about

To mark the end of 2023 we have a special split from Paul Reset and Everyday Dust.

Archive 23 comprises of two long form tracks that journey into the darker realms of electronic music.

The number 23 has been of interest to both artists over the years not only for its connection to The KLF (of which they are both fans) but for the mysterious significance the number seems to have for so many. Some kind of outing from the pair concerning this number was always inevitable - and when could be a better time than the closing moments of 2023?

For this release both artists have mined their respective archives to find material to sample, edit and sequence into new works. Various rules concerning the number 23 were incorporated into this process. At the instruction of The Owls Of The Oracle the details of these rules cannot be disclosed. 🦉

“Paul Reset ventures into his archive of works made with his beloved Modplug Tracker to discover the source material for ‘DotXm’ - an enthralling journey into a dark and doom laden post apocalyptic world where cities have crumbled. Gloriously murky pads and ethereal textures hang in the air like a bleak skyline. Menacing bass drones pulsate over crunchy breakbeats while glitched out synths and acid lines crawl out of the cracks like they are exploring this strange environment. The low slung grooves will have your head nodding, but at the same time there is a lingering feeling of dread. This is unknown terrain. Prepare to have your imagination set on fire with this one.”
- Everyday Dust.

“Everyday Dust harnesses the power of forgotten material sourced from long lost musical formats, breaking the tracks down and blending them with new improvised pieces to create a dark and haunting long form track. Red Scavenger grows as it goes, from ethereal voices and emotive melodies to dystopian sci fi bleeps and mechanical crunches. The 20 minutes fly past as you’re taken through several phases before it comes to a close with a stunning crescendo. It’s a track that rewards repeated listens with new layers revealed with each play.”
- Paul Reset.
